Dinner one of the nights this past weekend was salad bar, honey dijon chicken, green beans with almonds, mashed potatoes, and banana cake with cream cheese frosting for desert. At one point during the meal one of the campers (I'm going to guess he was 7th/8th grade) came up to me. Our conversation went something like this:
Camper: "Where is the gravy for the mashed potatoes?"
Me: "Oh, we have honey dijon chicken so there's no gravy. There's butter, though, or have you ever tried putting dressing, like ranch, on your potatoes?"
Camper: "That's gross."
Me: "I'm sorry...well, there's butter and salt, that's yummy."
Camper (while walking away): "What kind of world do we live in where there is no gravy for the mashed potatoes..."
